DM Design Collective is a building design practice working across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, led by Principal Building Designer Merlin Hannikeri. The practice prepares design documentation, development feasibility and permit drawings across residential, multi-dwelling, specialist housing and commercial building types — with every drawing set documented to the level a builder can price and a certifier can assess without repeated requests for information.
The same building answers to a different rulebook in each state — rooming accommodation in Queensland, a registrable rooming house in Victoria, different state policy again in New South Wales. Working across all three systems means one documentation standard across a multi-state portfolio, no re-briefing a new practice at each border, and feasibility advice that can compare interstate sites under each system's own rules — including a dedicated Cross-Border Site Comparison engagement for buyers weighing options in different states.
Advisory case studies naming councils, clauses and findings — including Clause 55 feasibility (City of Kingston), rooming house permissibility (Maroondah), development pathways under a Neighbourhood Residential Zone (Greater Geelong) and Class 3 SDA documentation (Mornington Peninsula Shire) — are published at dmdesigncollective.com.au/projects.html
